How we source this

Every number on this site carries a label saying where it came from. The labels are not decoration — they tell you how much weight to put on the figure.

What the labels mean

Agency-published
From a government agency's own page or document. The strongest source we use.
Employer-stated
The company published it in its own marketing. Accurate about intent, optimistic about outcomes.
Filed with DOL
Appears in a US Department of Labor filing. Legally consequential, so usually reliable, but narrow.
Job aggregator
Compiled from third-party postings. Indicative of a market, not an offer.
Third-party report
A blog or publication reported it. We have corrected two of these against agency pages already.
First-hand account
Someone who worked the job said so. Often the only source that exists, frequently years old.

What we don't do

We don't scrape paywalled or member-gated boards. Where a competitor holds a listing behind a membership, we link to it and cite it rather than republishing it.
